would you recognize it?

...if it jumped up, and bit you on the ass?

finally! my top ten.

okay, many many months ago i was going to sit down and try to come up with my top ten favorite beatles songs. if you didn't already know, i am a self-declared beatlemaniac, and when people ask me my favorite beatles song, i usually just laugh. i've never had a favorite. it's far too difficult, and it changes almost daily.

however, while drying my hair just now i was listening to sgt. pepper's and i decided that it was finally time. so, after a first pass through all songs beatles, i had written down 31 songs, and that was being very stringent. now, i've got my ten. surprisingly, they're split 6:4, paul:john. i really thought it would be much higher on the paul side. so, here they are:

10) baby you're a rich man
9) i've got a feeling
8) yer blues
7) lovely rita
6) things we said today
5) for no one
4) it's only love
3) you never give me your money > carry that weight > the end (yes, i know that's 3 songs, but this is my list and i count them as a medley)
2) you've got to hide your love away
1) here, there and everywhere

dear god. i can't believe i actually did that. feels pretty good.

i'm gonna have to call albany...

my friend bill told me that over the weekend, he was frantically trying to call me because he was witnessing a fantastic moment (but he didn't have my number in his new phone). anyway, he was at the bank of america in harvard square. it's a pretty large branch, and there were a lot of people in line, so some guy came out and was seeing if there were simple things he could take care of for the people in line, instead of making them wait for a teller. so, some guy is in line and is like, "oh, well i just need some change for a couple dollars."

this turns into a huge fiasco.

the helper guy was like, "oh, change huh? hmm...uh, i think you might need to...well, i guess you don't need a teller, but i'm not sure what to do here." he then calls for backup, and explains that the man just wants some change for a few dollars. others are called in. the boss ends up having to call albany. the head at albany was out on the golf course, and realizes that it's too late to fly back. so albany puts in a call to the president, who after a long, internal crisis, says no.
